Let's Gogh Art's Creative Education programs give children and adults the environment and the opportunity to explore and enhance their creativity...at their own pace and on their own terms. Let's Gogh Art is designed for both the artistically inclined individual and those who never thought they could create art.
Art Classes, ArtShops, StoryArt and Girl Scout Workshops. We offer both ongoing and speciality art classes and "artshops" giving students of all ages a broad exposure to all forms of media, tools and techniques. We currently offer ABCs of Art, Art-Splorers ArtShops, StoryArt and Girl Scout Power Badge Workshops. Coming soon is our adult classes, Art Keeps You Goghing! Our classes meet or exceed the National Standards for Visual Art. Our art classes are offered to:
Outsourced Art. For schools that don't have an art program offered during the school day (or perhaps a part time program they would like to complement). Let's Gogh Art can provide quality art education for students and promote their school’s art program as one of their great educational benefits for students.
Educator Workshops. Let's Gogh Art can come to your school, center or organization and train your teachers on how to foster creativity. Working with any of our curricula we'll give valuable tips and ideas for exposing children to art without having an art degree.
School Programs. At Let's Gogh Art our mission is to help preserve and promote the involvement of children and their families in the arts. Many studies have proven that children who regularly participate in the arts develop a greater ability for self-expression, imagination and creativity. To this end, Let's Gogh Art offers our Be Smart. Include Art program for your school. The Be Smart program includes after-school art classes, integrated (during the school day programs), fundraising, and participation at school events and festivals.
Our Creative Education Philosophy...Creativity is King!
Let's Gogh Art approaches creativity from a broad perspective. We don't focus on teaching a specific art skill. In fact, we focus on the overall learning experience and not on teaching at all. We never give lectures or ask people to remember art facts...that's way too boring. We simply give demonstrations, ideas and guidance to help you learn and create.
We give everyone who attends an Art to Gogh program exposure to the world of art while helping to ignite their imaginations. In our programs, "you" create, not our instructors. We don't "do art" for anyone and we don't make samples for you or your children to copy, nor do we want everyone's creation to turn out the same. Most importantly, we believe in fostering a relaxing and fun, non-competitive environment where there's no such thing as doing art the wrong way.
We feel the best route to expanding one's creativity is through exploring and experimenting with as many forms, tools and techniques as possible. Let's Gogh Art exposes you and your children to a world of artistic wonder. We allow students to develop their OWN original ideas and their own unique perception and interpretation of art. And no one is ever judged for the quality of their creativity.
The Curriculum
Our exciting hands-on curriculum is based on an open-ended explorative process and promotes learning skills through observation, memory and imagination. We believe creativity is best experienced with a comprehensive exposure to drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, print-making and lots more. We also incorporate literacy, art history, contemporary works and language arts. We show students how their art and creativity relates to the rest of the world, and as they create, they learn how to make these connections outside of the classroom. We build confidence in children which allows them to fully experience their creativity without judgment (and without worrying about a grade). We have delivered classes, workshops and events for several years to thousands of children and adults. How Do Children Learn With Let's Gogh Art?
The State of Art in Our Society
"Over the last decade, there has been an increased awareness of the benefits of early childhood arts education. Studies have proven the benefits of early creative experiences and their impact on lifelong learning and success. Parents increasingly want their children to have access to these artistic endeavors and to reap the benefits they provide at a very young age. This increase awareness, coupled with unfortunate budget cuts in arts education, has forced parents and organizations to seek alternative programs. According to the National Arts Education Association, approximately 45% of public schools do not have a full-time visual arts teacher. Based on this, the ArtBlast! concept is becoming more and more popular at both private and public schools and other community venues." -Lynn Toomey, Let's Gogh Art Founder and Chief Creativity Officer |
